Lacy Sunshine - Emily Spring Ladybugs

Good morning fellow bloggers! The card that I have to share with you today is one which I was inspired to make when I saw Chris (Always about Colour) demonstrate it on C&C tv and also at
Sir Stampalot a few weeks ago. The card Chris made was a 6x6 card so I have had to change the sizes as I wanted to make mine 8x8.

Basically I made the bottom shelve by cutting a piece of card 41/2" long by 8". I scored at 1/2" and again at 1", this creates the shelve, with the 1/2" piece to adhere to the base card.. The second shelve I made by cutting a piece of card 7" long x 61/4". I scored at 1/2" and again at 1" this again creates a shelve with the 1/2" to adhere to the base card. Cover the shelves in your chosen papers and adhere to the base card (also covered in chosen papers). I hope this makes sense!!! Not sure that mine is sitting as nicely as Chris's though:(

The items that I used:
  • Lacy Sunshine digi -Emily Ladybugs... coloured in with copics.
  • Papers are Maja Design -Vintage Spring Basics, available from Live and Love Crafts
  • Cardstock used - 8x8card blank and lilac core'dinations.
  • Spellbinder dies used: Cherry Blossom and Labels Twenty Nine
  • The vintage shabby cork hearts, shabby seam binding, and diamonte button are all available from Live and Love crafts.
  • The flowers, pearls, lace and sentiment (Whimsy Stamps) are all available from The Hobby House.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Fab and Funky - Girly
Creative Moments - lot's of layers
Lacy Sunshine #9 - anything goes
Live and Love Crafts - 50 shades of lilac

Happy Wednesday everyone! Although today is a very sad day for many.... the devastation in Oklahoma  City has effected so many people and I would just like to say that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Today I have decide to  take part in WOYWW! My DT project for Heartfelt Creations got missed out this week on there blog ... it is very hectic at the moment and Emma Lou bless her is on a plane on her way to Australia.... lucky thing! it is just one of those things that happens! it was just I was rather exited to share it with you as it is something a little different :)..... maybe I could give a little sneak peak later:). But please still go and have a look at what the other DT members have created ..... most have used the new Sun Kissed Fleur collection and I have to say they a certainly keeping me on my toes.... They are a very talented bunch :)
So anyway .... this is my desk today ...... mostly Heartfelt Creations stuff as on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I usually try and work on my DT projects! You will nearly always see a cup of coffee somewhere on my desk....usually cold as I tend to get carried away with my creation that I forget that  it is there:(. My Grand Calibur is always on it too....but don't tell hubby, but I have ordered the new Ebosser!!!! against all my believes because I just love my Grand Calibur, but I saw one in action at Sir Stampalot on Saturday ....and ohhh I just had to have one, I'm thinking it may make my life a little easier :) Sooo heres my desk......

You can see that the new dies and stamps come in one so that you can cut and stamp lot's all at once.... this is a great idea :). I am also in the middle of a project using the Spellbinder Bird Sanctuary.... so there you have it my desk today!!!!

A very good morning to you all! The weekend is over so quickly:(
Last night I received some exciting news..... I have been chosen along side 11 other wonderful talented crafters to be part of The Hobby House's new Design Team.  Our creations will be on the new challenge blog which I do believe begins on the 1st June!!!! And maybe also shown on Create and Craft TV where the lovely talented Chris from The Hobby House demonstrates:)... This is such an amazing and exciting Team for me to be part of!!! :)
I have used there products for a few years now, but over the last few months I have really become addicted to them:) The colour pallete of there pearls, ribbon and toppers all beautifully co-ordinate. They have recently added beautiful card too there ever increasing range too:). You will have probably noticed that I don't make a card or project without a little bling, so there products are a perfect match for me:). When I got news that I was to be part of the Heartfelt Creations design Team I wanted too also find some products that complemented my designs.... and The Hobby House products do just that!!!!
So  if you are not familiar with The Hobby House products hop over to there website...you will find Embellishments, flowers, ribbon, stamps, accessories (including dies, paper pads, punches to name just a few) charms, Toppers (including KennyK, Wee Stamps), all that beautifully co-ordinate together soooo well !!! http://www.thehobbyhouse.co.uk/. Also do take a look at there blog and see all of the other lucky DT members :) HERE
I am unable to show you my designs that I submitted to them for the DT call at the moment ... you will get to see these later, but I have chosen a few of my projects to give you an idea of some of there products.... and what you could create with them ...

So I would just like to say a big thank you to The Hobby House for giving me this amazing and exciting opportunity x I am honoured to be part of the team!!!! x

  • I have coloured the image in using copics.
  • The card base is from The Hobby House and comes in a pack of 6 (I think) and measures 148 x 148mm.
  • I have covered the card in using Bazzill polka dot card. The papers that I have used are Melissa Francis - C'est La Vie and Maja Design - Vintage Spring Basics. The other card used is Bazzill.
  • The paper flower has been die cut using Heartfelt Creations die - Vintage Floret -HCD 727, and stamped using the co-ordinating stamp -HCPC 3500 and HCPC3502. The foliage has been die cut using Heartfelt Creations die set - Delicate Asters - HCD 726 and again stamped with the co-ordinating stamp - HCPC 3494.
